The Organizational Leadership program allowed me to explore my leadership values and expand my skills. The courses completed were a combination of core classes and electives for a Change Management concentration.

Foundations of Leadership
Course Objectives
- Develop internal skills as a leader about what it means to be working with others towards a common purpose
- Become aware of own motivations and motivations of others
- Become motivated to create dialogic organizations where all perspectives can be integrated
Manifested Competencies
In a paper, Analyzing the Dysfunctional Merger of Two Companies Through the Five Frames, I illustrate competency in understanding the different ways people see organizational events, as well as how I might go about addressing dysfunction.

Imagine, Create, Lead
Course Objectives
- Experience, describe, analyze, and evaluate the dynamics of the creative process
- Enhance creativity and imagination in a leader’s work and organizational effectiveness
- Apply principles of Ignatian imagination in personal and professional practice
ORGL 610
Communication and Leadership Ethics
Course Objectives
- Recognize ethical issues and articulate personal values, multiple world views, and organizational values
- Demonstrate decision making informed by social justice concepts and communication as well as applied leadership ethics
Manifested Competencies
Electronic data tracking and monitoring is prevalent, yet it is ethical for businesses to continue with? Through an analysis of an organizational project, I explore the ethical issues of one-time consent and how I might bring about change.

Organizational Behavior and Theory
Course Objectives
- Define how to plan, establish, and maintain an organizational structure
- Demonstrate a capacity to build a network of effective relationships and utilize different communication and influence strategies
- Define leader’s role in designing and leading effective teams
- Demonstrate knowledge and skills in re-invigorating or changing organizational culture
- Demonstrate understanding and capacity to use systems dynamics
Manifested Competencies
This memo demonstrates the ability to use causal loop diagrams to identify attributes that could cause issues in an organization and recommend change to organizational structure and culture.
ORGL 515
Leadership and Human Potential
Course Objectives
- Differentiate multiple organization development interventions that support individual and organizational growth
- Analyze the application of organization development interventions, considering factors including presenting issues and organizational fit.
- Construct an organizational development intervention to enhance organizational health and human potential
Manifested Competencies
Having spent a career in Product Management, I constructed an intervention to the problem of role ambiguity using generative images and Action Research. While it was delivered as a video, the script is available for analysis.

Relational Dynamics and Organizational Development
Course Objectives
- Explain the human centric approach of organization development
- Create an organization development resource library
- Construct a sustainable change agent strategy
Manifested Competencies
Humble Consulting by Dr. Edgar Schein provided an opportunity for our team to explore best practices for an organizational development consulting practice. The team created a podcast-style interview to demonstrate our understanding an application of relationships among change agents and organizations.

Organizational Change and Transformation
Course Objectives
- Analyze models for leading change
- Apply basic Lewinian concepts to change
- Develop strategies for systemic alignment with stakeholders
- Create a human centric action plan
Manifested Competencies
I created an Action Plan to facilitate change in an organization. This plan demonstrates understanding of and the ability to use various change models. Furthermore, I increased my knowledge on how to assess an organization’s structure so that I can ensure success of change projects.

Team Building and Leadership
Course Objectives
- Increase knowledge, understanding, and skills related to team formation and group development
- Increase knowledge and understanding of virtual team development, and to become a more effective team member in working with people of diverse backgrounds, cultures, philosophies, approaches, strengths, and limitations
- Improve skills related to effective problem solving and decision-making
- Improve communication skills, particularly within a virtual environment
Manifested Competencies
This reflection paper details the skills I obtained in this first team building class. In particular, I obtained skills in ways to build trust on teams, increase the comfort of constructive conflict, and bring the benefit of a workshop back to teams in their day-to day.

Advanced Team Building And Leadership
Course Objectives
- Increase knowledge, understanding, and skills related to leadership, stages of group development, group dynamics, and team building
- Become a more effective team member and facilitator in working with people of diverse backgrounds, cultures, philosophies, strengths, and limitations
- Improve skills related to effective problem solving and decision-making as they relate to identifying group and individual needs, appropriate selection and sequencing of activities to meet group needs, and debriefing activities
- Improve communication skills through participation in and leadership and facilitation of challenge activities, particularly in the virtual space
